Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
Humor me for a sec. What you are looking for is a Home Inspector that is going to inspect the home that you have worked so hard to buy. An Inspector that is going to take the time and really check everything out. Top to bottom, inside and out. And tell you what you might be getting into. As a home buyer myself I understand exactly what you are going through. So many questions and everything is happening so fast. At first this purchase may have started off as a "dream" and now it's quickly becoming a "reality!" You've chosen this home, out of all the others. And now you're searching for an inspector. I think you've found him =)

What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

What exactly do you look for? What are you inspecting? I say everything I can possibly see. First off I look for oblivious issues, such as a leak on the kitchen faucet or the stove burners are malfunctioning. Then I get into detail and check each area section by section looking for clues of previous, current or soon to be damage to the home. Small things like: a small stain on a baseboard that would be easily missed or over looked. Only to find out that the leaking bathtub is on the other side of the wall and requires repair before mold forms. Following footsteps made by the home owner in the attic insulation, just to make sure they didn't do any improper "handy man" work. I have my routine and know what to look for and how to find it!

Do you have a favorite story from your work?
Any easy story and an easy example. I had client that followed me around each and every step of the way during an inspection. Which is fine with me! I actually encourage it! Well, he didn't seem totally convinced that he really needed an inspection done on the home he was buying. I just kept working and pointing out all the little issues I was finding and taking pictures. One of the test we as inspectors do is: Fill the bathtub up, until the water enters the overflow drain. Usually it's the circle above the drain hole. As I am filling up the tub my client is telling how about how much of a waste of time it was to perform such a easy task. He kept mentioning that the house was only 4 years old. And what were the chances that a bathtub overflow drain was damaged... Just then his wife yelled out "Oh My God There's a Waterfall Down Here." It turns out that my simple test was needed to find that the overflow drained into the wall, down to the first floor and out through the ceiling. Causing quite a bit of damage on the way =) This was one of about six large repairs I found for him and his family. The leak and drywall damage was repaired by the seller and they were more than happy to write out a check for home inspection service on the spot! A home is a big investment. You're probably signing a 30 year loan.... Why not have the home properly and professionally inspected?

What do you like most about your job?
I Love Homes, Houses, Properties, Casas. What ever you want to call them. I am also an active Licensed Real Estate Agent (Realtor) here in Arizona. I go see model houses whenever I pass by them. And have been to my fair share of open houses. I enjoy what I do and it shows!

How did you decide to get in your line of work?
I've been in several types of construction over the years. Then recently partnered with an investor and fixed & flipped over 25 homes here in AZ. We did excellent work. We put the best of everything into these homes. Custom work and full renovations, top to bottom. 20-60K in remodels. I was very proud of the work I did. We pretty much took the homes apart and put them back together in the best shape they have ever been in!! Photos upon request =) Now I have the opportunity to bring alllll those skills, experience and knowledge to the table, for you and your home inspection.

If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
If you love it. Do it.
